Our Family:

We are very proud of the breeding jacks and jennets who live here at Quarter Moon Ranch. They have become a part of our family. We don’t measure their worth in what they produce even though many have produced champion progeny. We measure their worth in the joy they bring to us. Raising wonderful foals is simply an added bonus. Most of our breeding stock has been raised from weanlings. They were carefully selected from some of the finest herds in the country years ago when we started raising miniature donkeys. We believe that if you begin with quality and breed to quality, you have a greater possibility of producing progeny that is above the average.

We have been very blessed that our program has evolved exactly as we envisioned. Our breeding jennies have grown into wonderful broodjennets, but even if there is one whose offspring is somewhat less than the ideal, she has a place in our hearts and therefore a place in our pasture.

This isn't a business to us, it's a love affair.
