We believe that the quality of the jennet to which a jack is bred is just as important, if not more so, than the quality of the jack. The maternal gene is very intense. Therefore, we breed the best jack to the best jennet in order to produce the best quality. Remember, THE PROOF IS IN THE PROGENY. Please take a good look below. Your gal just may be here! QM 24 KARAT GOLD |
DOB: 5-7-08 |
STATUS: SOLD |
This jennet is absolutely one of the most correct foals to be found. There is nothing to fault on this little gal. Her sire Quarter Moon Blockbuster is the 2006 ADMS Reserve National Champion, the 2008 Houston Livestock Grand Champion, and the 2008 Texas Shootout Grand Champion. Blockbuster is becoming known for the beautiful heads he is stamping on his foals. Gold's dam is Quarter Moon Gold Nugget, NMDA Champion Halter Jennet and multiple Grand Champion. Gold inherited the good width in her chest and hindquarter from both her dam and sire. She's a very well put together jennet who should do very well in the show ring as well as the breeding pasture.

Full Pedigree of 25 Karat Gold. UPDATE: 24 Karat Gold has been purchased by Ken and Jeannie Richards of Li'l Angels Miniature Donkeys in Columbus, TX.

LAUGHLIN'S NILA |
DOB: 5-11-02 |
STATUS: $800 Barren Jennet |
We had high hopes for Nila when we bought her as a yearling, but have been unable to get her bred since she's come of breeding age. She will make a wonderful companion animal as well as an excellent driving donkey. Her dark color would make her flashy in harness. You might even want to put her with your jack and see if nature will eventually settle her. Nila is independent but loving. You will enjoy having her around the ranch.

QM KEEPSAKE |
DOB: 1-17-08 |
STATUS: SOLD |
We are extremely proud of this little sorrel jennet. Her conformation is flawless at this young age. When she was born, the first thing I noticed was her huge dark eyes. Keepsake has the most beautiful eyes. She tracks beautifully and has great width in her chest and hindquarter. She is the daughter of Quarter Moon Ticker Tape and Sunset Acres Bette Midler. Her sire Ticker Tape is a 3-time NMDA Champion Halter Jack and Best of Breed. Her dam Bette is the mother of Quarter Moon Code Red owned by Mike and Loydene Brown of North Gate Farm. We have retained one of Bette's foals Quarter Moon Lots of Pizazz for our breeding program. Keepsake comes from a proven sire and dam as well as siblings. We love the bone on this girl. There is nothing to fault on her. She should do well in the show ring and produce quality progeny.

QM DIXIELAND BLUES |
DOB: 1-10-08 |
STATUS: SOLD |
Tiny! Tiny! Tiny! If you are looking for breeding jennets that are small...here's your gal. More importantly, Dixieland Blues has superior conformation to be this tiny. The width in her chest and between her hindlegs is what you would see in foals much taller than Blue. Her drafty build comes from her sire Quarter Moon Blockbuster. Her dam Quarter Moon Dixie is one of our finest brood jennets. We have retained two of her offspring in our breeding herd. One is Quarter Moon Elsie, NMDA Champion Halter Jennet and dam of the 2007 NMDA National Champion Jack and Best of Breed Quarter Moon Top Dollar. The other one of Dixie's foals we have retained is Quarter Moon Dixieland Band. We came desperately close to keeping this little girl too. You will notice that we don't a have problem introducing gray-dun jennets into our breeding program. We have observed through the years that many people will pass up a very fine gray-dun to purchase color with lesser conformation. We won't. A well-conformed gray-dun (especially with color in her background) is very likely to throw well-conformed color and we have proof of that within our own herd. Quarter Moon Ranch has produced 2 NMDA National Champion Jacks and Best of Breed... Quarter Moon Fistful of Dollars (2003) and Quarter Moon Top Dollar (2007). Both of those boys are out of gray-dun jennets...Quarter Moon Elsie and Cact-Ass Muffin and both boys are very dark brown. Additionally, Blue is a sweet, active and happy little girl. Don't overlook this fine gray-dun gal especially if you are looking for a smaller brood jennet. This gal is nice.

QM CARMELLA |

Carmella has a lot going for her. She has a beautiful little head, nice build, and a wonderful pedigree. Her sire is Quarter Moon Ticker Tape, 3-time NMDA Champion Halter Jack and Best of Breed. Her dam is Quarter Moon Fancy, a very well-proportioned dark brown (really black with cross) NLP jennet. Carmella has a very friendly and affectionate temperament and should mature into a fine brood jennet. With so much sorrel and dark color in her background, it will be interesting to see what she produces.

FALL CREEK PRISSY |
DOB: 3-23-93 |
STATUS: $1200 (OPEN), $1500 (BRED) |
Prissy is a small jennet with very nice conformation. She has a wide chest and full hindquarter. Prissy has many good years of breeding ahead of her. Jennets can breed and have foals when they are 25 and older if they are maintained in good condition. Prissy settles quickly and foals easily. She is the madam of the ranch and what a personality. We are selling her open so you can breed her to your jack or we will breed her to Midnight Skye should he be available for stud service.

QUARTER MOON SWEET SEPTEMBER |
DOB: 9-7-03 |
STATUS: $1000 |
Sweet September's sire and dam are two very popular and proven donkeys. Her sire is Circle C Red Tape who is an NMDA National Champion Sire. Her dam Quarter Moon Elsie is herself an NMDA Champion Halter Jennet and the dam of the 2007 NMDA National Champion Jack and Best of Breed. Sweet September definitely has some good genetics behind her which also includes S.S. Red Lightening and Quarter Moon Deacon. We were surprised to see her mature height with nothing but smaller donkeys in her pedigree. We wouldn't worry too much about that. We feel that she will make a good brood jennet when bred to your smaller jack. We have not tried to breed her yet. Sweetie would also make a great driving donkey as well.

QM SUCH A FLIRT |
DOB: 10-2-07 |
STATUS: SOLD |
Flirt is a good example of what our breeding program is about. We want our jennet foals to have a feminine head, good bone, width in the chest and hindquarter, and an amiable disposition. Flirt has all that. Her sire is Quarter Moon Blockbuster, the 2006 ADMS Reserve National Champion. Her dam C.P.'s Baby Blue is a black jennet who is the dam of Quarter Moon Bonnie Blue, 3-time NMDA Champion Halter Jennet and NMDA Reserve National Junior Champion. Flirt should make an excellent show jennet because of her flashy looks and her conformation. She also should do well in the breeding pasture.

STATUS: NOT FOR SALE |
There are not enough words to describe how much we like this foal. There is nothing to fault on her. She has perfect tracking which is unusual at this young age. She has width, bone, and straightness. Her head is absolutely gorgeous. Her sire is Quarter Moon Blockbuster, the 2006 ADMS Reserve National Champion. We are retaining her in our herd. Her mom Cact-Ass Muffin is the dam of Quarter Moon Fistful of Dollars, the 2003 NMDA National Champion and Best of Breed. She is also the dam of many fine show champions such as Quarter Moon High Plains Drifter, NMDA Champion Halter Jack owned by Les and Linda Sutherland of The 'Bray'n Pool in Michigan. Love those dark noses on a dark donkey! Southern Belle's sire is Quarter Moon Deacon, NMDA Champion Halter Jack and multiple halter champion. STATUS: Future Brood Jennet |
We love this little gal. She has the largest eye rings and the most gorgeous head. Fancy is striking. We outbred Fancy so that we could keep a jennet foal and we were thrilled when Fancy That was born. Fancy That began her show career with a 2nd Place Win in the foal class (38 exhibitors) at the 2006 NMDA Nationals. We look for good things from this jennet.

QM DIXIELAND BAND |
DOB: 1-2-05 |
STATUS: Future Brood Jennet |
What a little darling! Small and affectionate. Her sire is Quarter Moon Deacon, NMDA Champion Halter Jack and multiple halter champion. Bandy is square and wide for such a little girl with her dad's signature straight legs and perfect tracking. Her mom Quarter Moon Dixie is one of our top producers and is the dam of Quarter Moon Elsie, NMDA Champion Halter Jennet. Last year, Deacon and Dixie produced an identical foal to Bandy named Quarter Moon Dixieland Jazz. She just placed 5th at only 14 months at the Fort Worth Stock Show in a class of 22 mature jennets. Although most of Dixie's donkeys are gray-duns, we appreciate how well conformed all of them are no matter to which jack she's bred. Dixie is going on 13 years old so we would like to keep a few more of her jennets. Bandy is the definition of fine conformation and is exactly what we look for in brood and show jennets.

C.B.'s MILLION DOLLAR BABY |

STATUS: Future Brood Jennet |
This is a special little girl to me. When she first stood up, she came to me rather than her mom and has never left. We are keeping Cody Bartlett's herd sire Quarter Moon Fistful of Dollars and his jennet Thunder here at Quarter Moon Ranch while Cody attends Colorado State University. As many of you know, Cody (C.B. Miniature Donkeys) is ours along with belonging to his parents Janet and Randy. Cody has wanted Fist to stay in production therefore he has been bred to Thunder as well as several Quarter Moon Ranch jennets. Fist is the 2003 NMDA National Champion and Best of Breed winner. We are extremely pleased at what Fist is producing. This little girl is an example. We have never seen a foal this young and this small this correct. There is nothing to fault on her. She will be added to our show group and will be of great benefit to our breeding program in the future. Thank you so much Cody for permitting us to purchase her.

QUARTER MOON DIXIELAND JAZZ |
SIRE: Quarter Moon Deacon (NMDA Champion Halter Jack) Jazz and Jacob placed 2nd in Youth at Halter and 4th in Color & Conformation at the 2004 State Fair of Texas, 5th at the 2005 Fort Worth Show, and 3rd in the foal class at the Pasadena Donkey & Mule Show. Jacob, you're doing a great job! Congratulations.

|
QUARTER MOON CHEYENNE'S TRIPLE KISS |
SIRE: Circle C Red Tape (National Get of Sire Winner and sire of 2003 NMDA National Champion Jack) Cheyenne was a lucky little gal to find her way to the home of the McCleneys. She's been shown three times in 2004 and has won ribbons in all three shows...the State Fair of Texas, TAMU Donkey & Mule Show, and the Pasadena Donkey & Mule Show. Tammy's mom Victoria has joined the fun and shown Cheyenne as well. Cheyenne got her name because according to young Jacob McCleney, she has 3 swirls on her head showing that she was kissed by angels three times. We think so too, Jacob!
