Even Donkeys Can Have A Bad Day!
After
Barney won 1st Place at the Heart of Texas show, he rested on his "laurels"
in his first ever leadline class. It was that "donkey eating" blue tarp that
made him crazy and he was not going to walk on this one. Back home at the
ranch, he had taken blue tarps in his mouth
and run with them as though he were carrying the Olympic flag. That day
he decided that THIS blue tarp belonged to a grinch who hated jackasses.
He knew that if he stepped on THIS blue tarp that he would be sucked down
through the world's deepest hole only to emerge somewhere in Australia,
never to see his girls again. Barney was not intimidated by the laughter
of the crowd when Pete took his cowboy hat off and placed it on Barney's
head. Pete realized he had nothing else to lose except his pride. Even
though the judge and ring steward thought the whole incident comical, it
was obvious there would be no 1st place in leadline that day. That's our
boy!
